Neuromuscular Therapy is a form of Physical Therapy. It is drug-free and predominantly hands on non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on the effective treatment of pain and changes in sensations treating not only the musculoskeletal systems but also with a unique focus on treating fascia and myofascial trigger points.
Neuromuscular Physical Therapy offers a unique holistic (whole body) approach to health care. Neuromuscular Physical Therapists do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area, but use various manual soft tissue manipulation techniques to bring balance to all the systems of the body, through neuromuscular and fascial interventions in an effort to provide a foundation that encourages a return to or maintenance of good health and wellbeing.
The philosophy of European Neuromuscular Physical Therapy is what sets it apart from other complementary medical disciplines. The key principles are based on all parts of the body functioning together in an integrated manner. If one part of the body is restricted or experiencing pain, then the rest of the body must adapt and compensate for this, eventually leading to inflammation, pain, stiffness and other health conditions. Neuromuscular Physical Therapy takes account of the dynamic contractile ability of human fascia and the formation, etiology and treatment of Myofascial Trigger Points.
Neuromuscular Physical Therapy is the ideal complement to primary health care professionals and General Practitioners (i.e Medical Doctors) work. Treatment of pain and injury is one aspect of Neuromuscular Physical Therapy, however, a preventative role is also evident as when the body is free of restrictions in movement, Neuromuscular Physical Therapy treatment assists the body with pain minimisation, reduced stress and greater mobility providing the body with the opportunity to heal itself thereby avoiding knock-on negative effects.
Exercise and Nutrition expert John Sharkey MSc is the director and founder of European Neuromuscular Physical Therapy. Neuromuscular Therapy is also established in North America (i.e American Version) but differs significantly from the European style. There are several training centres in Ireland offering professional training in Neuromuscular Physical Therapy up to Higher Diploma level. With the best ones, students enjoy the fact that they have access to some of the world’s leading authorities in the area including eminent lecturers such as Leon Chaitow and Judith DeLany.
So what can students learn during such a course:
There are CCME course as an advanced Complementary Medical Educational (CME) programme involving Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Manipulation techniques including:
• Primary and Advanced Anatomy & Physiology
• Exercise Physiology
• Neuro Physiology
• Cadaver Studies
• Myology
• Soft Tissue Release
• Muscle Energy Techniques
• Trigger Point Techniques
• Neuromuscular Techniques
• Positional and Myofascial Release
What is most important, is that graduates can start a successful career in physical therapy provided they meet general requirements.
In addition to following a strict code of ethics, all licensed Neuromuscular and Physical Therapists must be a member of a recognised professional body such as the Association of Neuromuscular Therapists. Membership of this Association allows a therapists patients to benefit from health insurance payments.
The combination of continuing education and professional status will offer the reassurance which the public demand before a course of treatment commences. Patients will be able to verify the professional status of therapists using an on-line licensing register.

Break Out of Your Box!
The average American lifestyle goes something like this: We drive to work in a box, we sit for 8 hours inside a box (affectionately referred to by some as a cubicle), we drive home in a box, then we sit in front of our box TV (and if we’re really doing well in life it’s actually more of a flat rectangle), we throw a box dinner in the microwave and then go hop in our box bed for sleep. This cycle continues day after day, week after week.
Some may try to vary the routine or change their state of mind by drinking an alcoholic beverage or eating tons of sugar, but this will never give them the feeling of well-being that good health and fitness can provide. There is just no way that an overweight body which is oxygen-deprived can be happy. No wonder we are a country of fat, exhausted, and depressed people. WE HAVE TO BREAK OUT OF OUR BOXES!
Oh I have had my own moments of being fat, exhausted, or depressed. At times I would be out of breath just going up 14 stairs to the second floor of my home. How depressing is that? Well, I didn’t remain in that condition forever, and I much prefer my life now – fit, energized, and happy. Believe it or not, a large part of the answer to my troubles was discovered with kettlebells and the multiple health benefits they provide.
Not Your Average Exercise
There is no other exercise out there that tones your body like kettlebells do. They provide a unique combination of strength and cardio exercise to build endurance and stamina like no other workout. It is hard not to feel good when your body is being pumped full of oxygen and you are using muscles like they were meant to be used. I dare you to come to one of my classes and then tell me you’re depressed afterwards – it’s simply not possible! I have exercised my entire life but I have never felt so fully alive until I started working out with kettlebells.
I tried the gym, but I didn’t find what I was looking for. The treadmill did nothing for me and was boring. I lifted weights but noticed no change in my muscles. I began lifting more but my muscles were still nowhere to be found, and it certainly was not helping my back pain or energy level. Now understand, I’m not trying to knock the gym… but for me it just wasn’t the right answer, and I know I am not the only one out there with the same story.
I started working with the kettlebell in November and by December my back pain was gone and I felt more energetic than I had in years. I continued my routine and soon I was getting muscles all over. My abdominals were stronger than I could ever imagine. I could see and feel the fat melting away. My body became strong, supported, and erect – not the floppy mess that it was. I am now able to use my body to the fullest, and my energy is through the roof. This allows me to see my chiropractic patients until 6:15 at night and then I teach a kettlebell class for an hour, four nights a week. I have more energy now at 40 than when I was in my twenties.
Results in the Real World
Tiffany is my 20-year-old receptionist and is very fit. She usually goes to the gym five nights a week and works out for two or more hours. She heard the buzz about kettlebells and their butt-kicking potential but was very skeptical — they looked too simple and unassuming. After all, she had a trainer at her gym who would put her through what was supposed to be a gut-wrenching workout – one that would leave her ‘feeling the burn’. But afterwards she felt no increase in energy and wasn’t even sore. She then took my hour-long kettlebell class and said she had never worked out so hard in her life. She realized that she had used muscles for the first time that she never even knew existed.
Putting a load on your muscles over time builds stamina and endurance. The body is now able to tolerate activities of daily living with ease. Instead of lumbering up the stairs and being out of breath you will be able to run up them with energy to spare. The ballistic nature of kettlebells is what gives you the power, strength, and stamina to get through your day. To raise the kettlebell over your head repeatedly you have to use all your muscles and cardiovascular endurance. 15-20 minutes a day is all you need to give your body an amazing workout. Even if you begin with five minutes of swings a day you will start to feel changes in your body.
I have a woman in my class in her early 60’s named Connie. She has never been able to do a sit-up. Never, not even as a child. She is now able to do sit-ups because she has strengthened her abs and entire body doing nothing more than swings and snatches. Pretty powerful! It was after one of my classes she got pulled over by the police for speeding. She was so excited that she could do a sit-up that she didn’t realize how fast she was going. It’s energizing to have Connie in class because she keeps challenging her body to improve. She will line up three different sizes of kettlebells and will start with the heaviest one. If her form wavers she moves to the next smaller size. She is now using her body as it was meant to be used. As she keeps up the work she will be stronger and more fit than she has ever been.
A Meditative Workout
As demanding as it may be, a kettlebell workout has a meditative quality to it, allowing the mind to become quiet and calm. When I am snatching the 24 kg bell I am focusing on nothing other than doing it with proper form. I focus on my breathing, my core, and my squatting position. There are no thoughts about what’s for dinner, the dirty laundry, unopened mail or tomorrow’s schedule. All of your attention is on the bell and your body. Your mind is clear and focused. Most of us have that awful monkey-chatter going on in our head. “I’m too fat, I’m ugly, I don’t make enough money, my life sucks.” In a kettlebell class your mind is clear for at least 15-20 minutes as oxygen is pumping through your body, and you are feeling more powerful than you thought you could be. Can you remember the last time you felt that? It may seem minor as you sit there reading about it, but it’s powerful to experience and begins paving a path that can quickly bring benefits to many aspects of your life.
Are Kettlebells For You?
You may be wondering if kettlebells can work for you. Start by thinking about exercise programs or products you have tried in the past. Now consider the characteristics and benefits of kettlebells and decide for yourself.
1. They are easy to use. You don’t have to add weight onto a machine or change elastic bands. You don’t have to know how to dance or have rhythm. Once you have learned the correct technique for two simple moves – the ‘snatch’ and the ‘swing’ – you are ready to go. There is not a big learning curve.
2. They can be used anywhere. Kettlebell exercise requires very little space. I started working out in a hallway near my living room, which was a very small area. I have worked out in my garage, the parking lot at my office, in my yard, and in a hotel room. Kettlebells are small enough to take anywhere and you can store yours under your bed, under your desk, behind a door, or in your car.
3. They are effective. You will work on your cardio, strength, and flexibility in just 15-20 minutes a day. Most of us who worked out in the gym are used to isolating muscles. When doing a bicep curl you use the bicep only and no other muscle. That’s why it takes so long to do all the exercises in a gym. With kettlebells you use all the muscles in your body to perform the exercises. There are no separate exercises because the butt, abs, legs, and arms all get worked at the same time.
4. They are challenging and fun. People stop going to the gym because it gets old. I usually will stop an exercise six months after I start because I get bored and I don’t get the changes I expected. I have been doing kettlebells four times per week for a year and I haven’t gotten bored yet. There are so many exercise choices that you never lose interest. Figure eights, cleans, clean and jerk, hot potato, lunges… the list goes on. If an exercise is fun, gives you results and isn’t time consuming you will stick with it. That exercise is kettlebells.
5. They will strengthen your weak or strained areas. I’m a Chiropractor, and recognize that kettlebells strengthened my spine and core so that I no longer have back pain. I tried pilates, yoga, weight lifting, treadmill, elliptical, bicycle, walking and aerobics –all of them worsened my pain. With kettlebells I am now pain-free. I have clients with shoulder pain, hip pain, back pain, and neck pain. Many of my patients have been to multiple physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists some with minimal change in their pain. All have experienced improvement by using kettlebells. I got my Russian Kettlebell Certification (RKC), not just to teach the average person, but to help my patients when they had no quality of life due to pain and weakness. It warms my heart when I see someone’s life start to change.
6. They will save you money. I’m not talking about the price of the kettlebell. I am talking about the money you will save on doctor bills. When I injured my back there was an entire year when I was being seen 3-4 times per week for chiropractic adjustments, 2-3 times a month for acupuncture and twice a month for massage. That sure adds up. The kettlebell price is also very reasonable considering it will last a lifetime – you can’t wear them out!
7. They will help you break out of the box! They will prevent you from being a typical American. You will no longer be able to sit at your desk for longer than 20 minutes because you will notice how strange it feels not to move. You will begin to eat better because you will take more pride in your body. When you are pushing your body to new limits it begins to naturally crave different sources of fuel. You will be fit, energized and happy because your body will be functioning at a higher level.
The Power to Break Out of Your Box
How can kettlebells change your life? They will give you power. Physically you will be stronger than you ever imagined. But you will also be amazed at the other changes in your life. I have become more powerful in all areas of my life. My business is better, my interactions with others have improved, my whole outlook on life is better. I have a sense of confidence and know I can do anything I want to. Bring on whatever life has to offer…because I’m ready. Kettlebells have given me this power. I want you to experience these same changes for yourself. It’s time to pick up your kettlebell now and stop being the average American!

Jesus says in Matthew 13:25:
“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way”
The greatest danger that we face in the spiritual world happens when we sleep. There are 40 kinds of “tares” i.e. problems that can be introduced into a person’s life while she’s asleep. If you’ve had any of these dreams, it’s time to take action:
1. Do you eat or drink in the dream? 2. Do you have sex in the dream? 3. Do you swim in the dream? 4. Are you being chased or bitten by cats or dogs 5. Do you get shot at in the dream? 6. Do you have accidents in the dream? 7. Has anything been stolen from you in the dream?
“I don’t dream, or I don’t remember what I dream if I do.” That’s a feedback I’ve been getting from an overwhelming number of people. But what has God to say?
In Job 33:14-18, we read: “For God speaks once, yes twice, yet man perceives it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumbering upon the bed, then He opens the ears of man, and seals their instructions, that He may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”
So everyone dreams. Even scientists agree.
In the new ebook “40 Common Dreams People Have and 101 Prayers to Deal with Them,” I tell this true story of a newly-wedded woman in England.
She dreamt that a blonde woman she’d never seen before walked into her home, made straight for her closet and grabbed her wedding gown. She was gone before you could say, “Jesus is Lord.”
At breakfast the following morning, she told her husband about it. He just laughed it off.
Tell you what happened?
On that exact, same date two months later, the husband filed for divorce. He packed up and moved in with – you guessed it – the blonde woman who first appeared in the dream!
Dreams in the Bible
There are at least 28 accounts of dreams in the Bible. A few of them are:
(i) Joseph had a dream (Gen.20) (ii) Pharaoh had a dream (iii) Solomon had a dream (iv) The wise men had a dream (v) Joseph was warned in a dream to run away with Baby Jesus (vi) Pilate’s wife had a dream.
Sources of Dreams
Your dreams can come from 3 sources:
(i) God (ii) Satan (iii) The flesh
When a dream is from God, it encourages, assures, comforts, directs, instructs, guides, corrects and reveals.
When a dream is from the enemy, Satan, it is absurd, mysterious, unreasonable, confusing and terrifying
When it comes from your flesh, it generally mirrors what’s been occupying your thoughts throughout the day, e.g. egative news from the media, idle conversations.
Danger of NOT dreaming
If you feel you don’t dream at all, the real problem is that of recall. If you cannot recall your dreams when you wake up, you face a double danger:
- If God wants to speak to you, you will not hear.
- The enemy’s presence and activities in your life will remain largely undetected.
The Result?
1. you’ll be clueless about the things happening to you, your finances, health and marriage.
2. you may end up living from crisis to crisis, and wondering why your prayers are not working.
More Pointers
Here are more of those dreams that have serious spiritual implications:
- going back to your childhood days or to your old schools – strong winds blowing against you or your kids – carrying strange baby – wearing tattered clothes – finding yourself naked – losing your certificates – sitting for exams and not able to complete it – seeing strange creatures laughing at you (even when you call the name of Jesus) – discussing with dead relatives.
What’s this all mean?
Bible says in James 1:22:
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Let’s find out what some of these dreams really mean and what to do about them.
Dream #1 – sex in the dream
It is a disaster to have any form of sexual intercourse in the dream. This is the work of a spirit called spirit husband or spirit wife. Their main purpose is to control, rule, dominate, abuse, manipulate, plunder and dispossess the victim of every good thing earmarked for her/him by God. By their activities, one’s marital, social, business and financial life will be in shambles!
Yes, they have that kind of power. And if you allow this in your life, they will neutralize your prayers on legal grounds – because you’re married to them, whether you know it or not! Please don’t be deceived that they sometimes take on the appearance of your husband or wife.
What to do
You have to rebuke him/her in the name of the LORD. Attack this spirit with all the weapons you know about. Bind and stop the spirit from visiting you again.
Please be sure that you are NOT engaged in the sin of fornication or adultery – even in your heart. These 2 sins act like magnets, helping to attract them to you.
Dream #2 – one recurring dream
If you have discovered that anytime you want to touch or start something good, a particular dream comes up which always results in rendering all your efforts futile, you are suffering from what we call “The Demonic Stabilizer.”
This dream stabilizes you and keeps you at the same level. You must use the weapon of praying and fasting. This stabilizing influence may not affect your entire life, but it is a hindrance to your progress and fulfillment in life. You need to break the yoke behind it and set yourself free.
Dream #3 – wedding dress
If you dream of people stealing your wedding dress, or soiling it (like stained with blood or in rags), it is a vicious attack on your marriage.
You must go into fasting and prayer very quickly and command the wedding gown to be returned. Then go ahead and claim God’s promises for your marriage.
Dream #4 – being naked
If you find yourself naked in the dream, it is a sign of disgrace or insecurity (i.e. the enemy is planning to disgrace you publicly).
You must ask the Holy Spirit to clothe you and remove any object of disgrace from your life.
Dream #5 – traffic jam
If you drove your car in the dream in a traffic jam which stood still until you woke up, it is symbolic of a major plan to hinder you from getting what God wants to give you. This is the kind of dream that shows you the devil’s strategy against your life.
Ask the Holy Spirit to send His troopers there and clear the way for you.
Dream #6 – funeral service
If you frequently see yourself in funeral services, the enemy is pursuing you with the spirit of death, period.
What to do
You have to disband the funeral service and ‘deal with the priest who is conducting it. You should also withdraw yourself from the service. It is not of God. The people who are there are only pretending to be your relatives or church members. They are all satanic agents.
Dream #7 – eating in the dream
If you find yoursef eating in the dream (no matter what it is) it shows you that your spiritual life is being poisoned. You may even be eating human flesh (Ps 27:2) without knowing it. This is how terrible diseases are introduced into the lives of people – when they are asleep and maybe even spiritually dull!
What to do
You have to ask the Holy Spirit to purge you immediately. This is where you need to learn to activate the cleansing power in the blood of Jesus, and use it aggresively!
Next Steps
Listen carefully. If you are a child of God, you should NOT experience these kinds of dreams. But most Christians are still having them as a result of ignorance, carelessness or prayerlessness.
You may be asking: “But I’ve had these types of dreams for so many years without doing anything about it. Can I still rectify things and undo what Satan has done?”
I have good news for you. The answer is: “Yes, you can!”
Prayer Homework
I usually give some homework after this kind of teaching. I’m seeing powerful praise reports from some of those who are praying.
A woman prayed and reported that she saw how certain problems entered into her life.
Another even saw the glory of God for the first time in her life. Powerful stuff!
Here’s 4 prayer points to pray before you sleep (to prevent bad dreams):
1. Let every strange fire introduced into my body in the dream, be quenched by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
2. Every destiny demoting dreams, be destroyed in Jesus’ name.
3. (Lay your right hand on your head as you pray this one) Every mask of darkness working against my destiny, die in the name of Jesus.
4. O Lord, reveal beneficial secrets to me, in Jesus’ name.
There are 40 common prayers people have… every night. And there are 101 prayers to deal with them. Question is: Are you aware of this?

Find Physical Therapy Continuing Education in the United States and Canada. Now that you have earned the title of physical therapist, it is important that you acquire physical therapy continuing education to keep up with the latest techniques, education and skills to meet demands of the occupation.

While many schools and colleges offer physical therapy continuing education, did you know that there a number of alternative and complementary medicine schools that provide supplementary training in the healing arts as well? For example, physical therapists who are seeking new ways and holistic approaches to physical therapy treatments are pleasantly surprised that some learning institutes offer Tai Chi, Qigong and massage modalities as an alternative to mainstream medicine therapies.

Additional advanced physical therapy continuing education programs for the professional include certification courses in lymphedema therapy, functional orthopedics, neuromuscular facilitation, connective tissue disorders, neuromuscular rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral therapy, and numerous others.

Physical therapy continuing education programs typically include course outlines that list educational objectives and will usually qualify as CEUs, or advanced training modules that enhance professional occupational outreach and services. In many cases, physical therapy continuing education courses include basic instruction in epidemiology, pain management, anatomy and biomechanics, as well as hands-on training.

There are also several physical therapy continuing education programs that are geared toward specific health conditions and business topics like healthcare management and marketing, fractures, chronic pain, functional maintenance programs, geriatrics, infection control, Pilates, and soft tissue mobilization, among many others.

Though there are quite a few physical therapy continuing education programs from which to choose, there a number of training options that are provided through health seminars, online seminars, distance education/home-study, workshops and short courses. Thus, practicing physical therapists are not limited to physically attending local colleges or universities for supplementary training.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding physical therapy continuing education, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started!

Find Cross Fiber Massage Training in the United States and Canada. If you are looking for specialized education in one of the many massage modalities practiced today, cross fiber massage training is as unique as its name implies. Often referred to as “Canadian Deep Muscle Massage,” cross fiber massage training teaches students a specific technique that provides fast pain and stress relief.

Future practitioners taking cross fiber massage training learn a distinct bodywork method comprised of several massage therapies including Pilates, Rolfing, Pfrimmer, lymphology, and trigger point therapy, among others. During cross fiber massage training, students learn friction techniques that stretch and broaden large muscle groups; which are similar to those methods administered during a deep tissue massage.

In most cross fiber massage training programs, students are introduced to advanced anatomy studies, pathology, physiology, kinesiology, range of motion, and body mechanics. Additionally, students gain hands-on clinical training in cross fiber massage and other integrative massage techniques.

While no two courses are the same, a number of cross fiber massage training programs may be offered as part of a larger massage therapy curriculum, or as a continuing education or certification course.

One of the positive healing techniques that is taught in a cross fiber massage training course entails the gentle rubbing of targeted muscles; then progressively, deepening the rubbing method. In doing so, cross fiber massage helps to release and restore sore and inflamed muscles. Because it is frequently facilitated as a rehabilitative massage therapy, cross fiber massage training is not only offered as a therapy for humans, it is also taught in many equine and small animal massage programs as well.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding cross fiber massage training, let professional education within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started!

The city of Round Rock, Texas offers an enhanced quality of life through diverse leisure opportunities. It is really one great place to find a home or visit.

In this era of faster everything, including faster and larger commercial airliners where passengers are packed in like sardines, one thing seems to remain constant. That is the wonderful, leisurely world of cruising. For many years the airline industry has experienced numerous setbacks, while the cruise industry has been growing by leaps and bounds. There are many reasons why you should consider becoming a part of this amazing phenomenon. Here are some of them.

According to recent research from the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), ninety-five percent of cruisers give top marks to their cruising experience and more than seventy-five percent plan to cruise again within three years.

Contrary to what some people think, cruises are very affordable. With most vacations you end up paying for air flights, hotels or resorts, restaurants, entertainment, and sometimes car rentals. If you add all these costs up, cruises can be a real bargain. When you book a cruise, in most cases you pay for the airfare and cruise. However, if you live close enough to your cruise ship departure port, you may be able to drive there much cheaper than you can fly. Even if you have to fly to the departure port you can always get a flight and cruise package deal which is usually less expensive than purchasing your flight and cruise separately.

When you book a luxury cruise vacation, well over 85% of your holiday is prepaid and that includes all meals, night clubs, stage shows, movies, and entertainment, as well as numerous other activities and amenities. In addition, most ships have onboard activities such as golf, rock climbing, dancing, swimming, scuba diving lessons which can lead to certification, Pilates, yoga, and fitness trainers. You can also pamper yourself with wonderful spas and body massages.

Another way to save big bucks on a cruise is to book an inside cabin. If you do not need to have a cabin with a balcony or ocean view, then you will save a lot of money. You have use of all the shared amenities that your fellow passengers have, but it’s costing you a lot less.

You can also save a bundle on repositioning cruises. A repositioning cruise is made possible at certain times of the year, usually in the spring and fall, when cruise lines relocate their ships from one part of the world to another.

There is a large variety of luxury cruise vacations to choose from, ranging from three day mini cruises to several month long cruises as well as an amazing around the world cruise odyssey.

When you cruise, you are traveling in the lap of luxury in a floating five-star hotel. You will be pampered and feel you are living the life of a king or queen, not just for a day, but for the entire length of the cruise. Gourmet dining, impeccable service and elegant surroundings are only a few of the superlatives that are used to describe cruising.

If you like delicious food you will absolutely love gourmet meals and scrumptious desserts created by great chefs and served in a variety of restaurants. There are always wonderful buffets available throughout the day and even midnight buffets. A number of themed lounges are located throughout the cruise ships for your convenience.

Love seeing Broadway style shows and theater performances without having to make reservations or pay outlandish prices for tickets? Then taking a luxury cruise is the answer. So many things are included on cruises which make them such a great value for your travel and entertainment dollar.

From children to great grandparents, there is always something to interest everyone on a cruise. You have the option to be as active as you like or you can just relax and experience magnificent sunrises and breathtaking sunsets while watching the world go by. So many wonderful, precious memories and experiences will stay with you a lifetime when you take a luxury cruise.

Want to party around the clock? Not a problem. Whether you are with a partner or single, it’s always party time. You don’t even have to plan or clean up after the party, just have a lot of fun!

Businesses from around the world book conferences and seminars, team building get-togethers, new product launches and employee reward vacations on cruise ships. Cruise lines do not charge extra for conference room facilities and use of audio and video equipment.

Group cruises are not only for companies and business people. Family reunions, honeymoons and weddings, sports groups and clubs, charities and fund raisers are only some of the many kinds of groups that have their events on cruises.

On cruises there is no hassle of having to pack and unpack again and again every time you travel to a new destination. Another bonus is that there is no limit on the amount of luggage you can bring on a cruise.

People with disabilities should have no problem getting around on a cruise ship. Cruise lines have made onboard accessibility a non-issue as their ships are equipped with ramps, elevators and easily accessible cabins and state rooms.

Modern cruise ships have dramatically reduced the problem of seasickness. Today’s larger ships slice through the waves instead of riding on top of them. Also, new innovative technologies like stabilizers and counterbalancing systems have greatly reduced the pitch and roll of cruise ships, all but neutralizing any problem of seasickness.

Cruising is also one of the safest forms of travel. The cruise industry has an exceptional safety record. And as far as assaults and robberies are concerned, they are over a hundred times less likely to occur on a cruise ship than in your own home town.

A physician and medical staff are never more than a few minutes away on a cruise ship should any passenger need to see doctor. Most common passenger ailments and minor mishaps occur less on a cruise ship than on shore.

For those that have a fear of flying or don’t enjoy being crammed like sardines into commercial airplanes when traveling to their destinations, here is some great news. The cruise lines in the United States are making terrific strides catering to cruise passengers needs. They are opening up more ports of call on both the East and West coasts so more and more people who would love to go on a cruise but don’t like flying, can easily drive or take a bus or train to most departure ports.

It’s that time again; time to start buying holiday gifts for friends and families. While you’re out finding the perfect present for them, though, consider what it is you want to receive this year. If you are like many people who are hoping to get in shape and lose weight, you may want to add some of the top fitness products to your wish list this season. You should also consider these presents for loved ones who share your goal for a healthier life. Everyone has their own preferred method of working out and getting into shape. Thankfully, though, there is surely a fit gift to suit every personality. For example, people who love to work out with a group are likely to appreciate a membership to a gym or health club. Get one for your best friend, and sign yourself up too. Then, you can go together and make getting into shape a social experience. Another great option is to sign up for a fun class. Get a gift certificate for a local dance studio and learn to strut your stuff, or hit the yoga mat to discover a new way of healing your body and your mind. If you and your friends already share a fitness hobby, you can get great gear to step it up a notch. Love to bike? Consider getting a pair of quality fitness sunglasses or a mileage tracker for your cycle. If running is your thing, check out the latest shoes that record how far and how fast you run. Other great options for any sport are heart rate monitors, music players, and environmentally friendly sport bottles. The gym may not be the place for everyone, though. If you are someone who prefers to get sweaty in solitude, your best gifts are likely to be found in the DVD section. Add a few of the top video workout products to your wish list and clear a space in front of the TV. With the recent surge in fitness interest, there are hundreds of great programs to choose from. If I were making a recommendation, I would consider P90X, 10 Minute Trainer or Turbo Jam! Everything from pilates to kickboxing can be done right in your own home with the aid of your DVD player! If the television isn’t quite personal enough, consider a paid membership to an online training site. You can gain access to personalized workouts and nutrition info. Most sites even let you download routines to your iPod or mp3 player. They also let you record your progress and celebrate your successes. Plus, it’s easy to sign up with a friend and send each other progress reports. No matter what your interests, there is sure to be a fitness gift perfect for you or another exercise enthusiast in your life. So, drop a few hints to family and friends to let them know which of these fit gifts you’re hoping to unwrap this season. Don’t think they’ll get it right? Splurge on yourself this year. You deserve it!

Everyday our lives are crammed with our daily routines. We go to work, study, pay our bills, etc. and never seem to have time for ourselves, what more to exercise. When we have too much on our plates, when do we find the time to think of fitness programmes? How do we stay fit? Lucky for us, an exercise routine does not have to be a full one-hour solid event. There are several ways where we can get some exercise time into our daily schedules. Below are four ways how you can incorporate exercise routines into your everyday life.Fitness At WorkWhen we think of it, work and exercise rarely go together. But nowadays, more and more employers are giving the opportunity for their workers to get healthy. There are even companies that incorporate special exercise or fitness breaks into the employees’ workday. That’s all well and good. But what if the company you work for does not provide such fitness breaks? How do you get your exercise? Hey here’s a secret. You can exercise at the office without ever letting anyone know! How do you do that, you say? Easy! Next time you need to go up or down use the stairs instead of the elevators. And how about trying to walk around as much as possible instead of sending that sms or that email to a co-worker? And, instead of using the bathroom on your floor, how about going up or down a few flights of stairs? You could also practice Pilate’s right at your desk, and perform simple stretching exercises either in your own little cubicle or in the bathroom. If you try to look for ways to exercises you’ll be amazed at the many opportunities that are available to you, right there in your office.Fitness At HomeYou’re at home. Great! What better place to exercise right? Wrong! In the home you might have other responsibilities such as being a mum or a dad. One way for you to be able to exercise is to also include your children in the routines. Once they’re involved with you, you’ll find it easier to exercise. Another plus point would be that you would be able to spend that special quality time with your kids, and they won’t even think of exercise as work or chores, so you’ll have double the fun. Need ideas? Go for walks before or after dinner, or organize a tag game which involves the whole family. Or you could turn your house chores into exercise routines. When vacuuming, make sure you use your arms and back and core muscles so that they are involved when you’re vacuuming. Or while loading the dishwasher or washing machine, maintain proper posture when bending and standing straight. This will keep your stomach muscles tight, and exercise them as you would while doing stomach exercise routines. Or for a quick aerobic blast, how about sweeping the driveway? Instant workout!Out and AboutWe may not think of exercising when we’re out and about doing our errands. However, once you try this, you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of it before. When you’re in any kind of line or queue, say at the grocery store or the bank, try to contract your buttocks for about 15 counts and release. This will help to strengthen your butt muscles (and will keep you cool should the customer in front of you needs five price checks!). One other routine you can try is to stand on you tiptoes for account of 10. Slowly drop back to your original position. This will strengthen your calf muscles. Or next time when you’re out shopping, use a grocery cart and push it all round the supermarket. Let’s say you’re sitting in traffic. Use that time to stretch and perform some arm movements while you wait. Of course some people may give you funny looks or stare, but that’s ok. You know what you’re doing is for your own good. Plus it keeps your blood pressure from shooting through the roof while waiting in that traffic jam.As and whenWhen it’s one of those days when you’re bored or feeling lifeless, get up and visit a local park or do some speed-walking around your neighborhood. If weather doesn’t permit, go to the mall. Walk around the mall at least twice on all levels. Did you know that there are some malls with reward programs which give you points just for walking the mall? These points can then be redeemed into gift certificates or shopping coupons. How’s hat for random walking around the mall? Plus all that walking will be good for you. When you think about it there are many places where you can go for random fitness outings. So next time you’re out and about, look out for these areas for your next spur of the moment exercise trip! Have fun!

For students who are seeking an innovative education, holistic studies provide for comprehensive instruction in an assortment of natural health and lifestyle classes including training in relaxation and stress reduction, yoga, meditation, Pilates, energy medicine, Qigong, hypnotherapy, NLP, spiritual healing, reiki and many others.

In addition to degree programs, holistic studies may afford students with opportunities to earn certification or diplomas in the areas of hypnotherapy, intuitive counseling, therapeutic touch, reiki, and holistic health care.
